Home
So I was able to leave the hospital on Wednesday and enjoy turkey day at home. I promised my boys I would be out Thursday so I’m glad it worked out. I felt my care in the hospital was great. All the nurses and doctors took good care of me. I even came home to a yard that was all fixed up thanks to Justin and Josh . I have had great visits from Jared, Andy, Kenny and Colin on Wednesday and Friday, steak from Jason, and an incredible meal tonight cooked by Justin. It has been overwhelming. Jess is managing my tons of medication. I am still having issues with my left hand motor skills. but today tied my shoes twice and went for two walks. All I can do right now is keep moving forward. I have decided that I will climb again this summer. I will win any scar contest. I’m glad to be home. I have slept great both nights. Thanks to all my visitors in the hospital! Thanks to my amazing wife who has taken such good care of me. Please keep praying for Wednesday as that is the day to find out the results of what Goliath was and what I will need to do moving forward. I can say yes I have had Brain surgery. A tennis ball was removed, that is huge. I gave my boys each a tennis ball with the name Goliath on them. This week still seems surreal considering all that has happened. DEH

David,
You bring much inspiration with all you write. Although, I barely know you, you should be so proud as you have accomplished so much. Reading your blog continues to bring tears to my eyes. I have prayed for you and your beautiful family ever since I heard. Wishing you continued success. Much love,
Tracey
I’m thinking of you and your family every day David and am relieved you have the tools you need to overcome this…strength, bravery, God and family! I’ve been wondering why these situations seem to happen to all the “good guys” and not the jerks who treat their bodies horribly and take their loved ones from granted. I have always considered you one of the “good guys” and have many cherised memories of the fun times we had in school together. I would love to visit you when you feel up to it! Our boys could have some fun together!
